 | Press Release From Team Cullen Racing

After a successful test with the Factory Yamaha Racing Team (YRT) outfit at the conclusion of the 2011 season on the prestigious Phillip Island circuit. A lot of discussions within our team and with YRT owner and engineers a decision was made to move to the 2012 Yamaha R1 with support from YRD for 2012.
With the team now at full strength and the technical support we have previously lacked, our goal for the 2012 season would be to take the team to a 1st and 2nd position in Both FX Nationals and Australian FX-Superbike Championship helping both Glenn and Jason Cullen further their careers.
With the improvements made to the 2012 Yamaha and the success of the Yamahas in the past, we felt that this was the best direction for the team to take. We weighed up all options over the off season and kept pointing back to the Yamaha.
There are other manufacturers at the moment producing very fast and popular products that would be very competitive at the Formula Xtreme Series. But with all consideration made we felt that the 2012 Yamaha R1 could be the most consistent and successful package throughout the year.

To allow identification between the Factory YRT and Team Cullen Racing, TCR will run the Yamaha 50th Anniversary White, Red and Black livery for 2012.
