Information for Competitors and Teams going Road Racing in 2010

Hello there, this is the first of many newsletters for 2010, it provides important information for all competitors and teams looking at competing in the Australian Formula Xtreme Championship (AFXC) Series.

We invite you to read on and find out how the AFXC series in 2010 will provide the most cost effective affordable fun high profile televised road racing series in the country for the vast majority of competitors and teams. The structure of the premier classes provides privateers, small teams and even Factory Teams with as close to a level playing field competition and racing as ever that has been offered in this country. This is the way it should be, all competitors should be able to go racing and have a chance of winning based on talent rather than the size of your bank balance.
Over the years we have been told time and time again that our events provide a very friendly professional, fun and enjoyable racing environment. This is something we are proud of and we are also quite proud of the fact that our events can and do provide all of the above while catering for D graders starting out in racing right through to factory team riders. We invite you to find out for yourself about how good our events are by entering one or more of our events this year.
Australia’s Other Motorcycle Road Racing Championship & Your Chance to Be a Champion
By entering the 2010 Australian Formula Xtreme Championship you are becoming a part of history. The AFXC series is the first non MA sanctioned Australian Motorcycle Road Racing Championship in Australian motorcycle racing history. For the first time ever there will be Australian Champions in all grades in all classes. As far as we see it if you have earned a grade then why can’t you be that grades Australian Champion for your class? We decided you deserve to have that chance. The history books will show that 2010 was the first year Australia had an alternative motorcycle road racing championship. You are invited to compete and have a serious chance of putting your name in the history books as well.

When it comes to getting value for money not only will you get plenty of racing at each round (six races over two days) but the Sunday AFXC series is televised and each class including yours will get coverage.

We invite you read the Sup Regs and see what is on offer for all competitors and how what we are offering will work for you.

Two Series, Two Separate Championships In One Weekend ...How does this work?
Having two series on one weekend may at first glance seem confusing but if you take the time to read about it and see what is offered then we believe most will recognise the many benefits in what is being offered here.
As has already been announced the AFXC events will be run over five weekends and are split up into two completely separate series and championships. The Saturday FX Nationals series, which is point scored separately from the Sunday Australian Formula Xtreme Championship Series. This gives each competitor two series over the weekend to do well in.
Why have we done this? For several reasons, first off feedback from racers indicates that most racers don’t want to just sit around for two days, they want to race at race meetings not spend a whole day practising and qualifying. By running two separate series on each weekend all classes and every competitor receives six races over the two days.
Second if you have a normal double header round then you race for two days with one cumulative poinstcore for one series. This has the chance of wrecking your whole series if something goes wrong on one of the days with so many races and points at stake. This way you get to race in two series over the same weekend so you have two chances of winning a series and a championship. One other thing not everyone can afford through time or financial restraints to race two days but they can often race one day. This gives you a choice of racing Saturday in one series or Sunday in another series or both days in two series.
How the rounds work is the same both days, first up everyone gets one qualifying session at the start of the day, which decides the grid spot for the first race, then the following races grid spots will be decided by the finishing order of the previous race.

At all rounds there will also be a Friday practice day available for those wanting extra track time.

We have spoken with the Eastern Creek, Winton and Wakefield Park and there will be camping available please check the Series Sup Regs for details.

Rider Race Number Registration
You can register your preferred race number for the 2010 AFXC series which secures your number for the whole of 2010. Check the website for details, this package also includes DVD’s of every round you compete in and a AFXC Series T-Shirt for only $75.00

AASA Competition License
The AASA has announced the cost of an yearly National Open Competition License for 2010 at $190. This is about 30% cheaper then MA’s corresponding license and in another potential cost saving for competitor it is not mandatory to join a club to get a license. AASA Licenses won’t suit everybody out there as MA doesn’t accept them at their events but we do accept both the MA and AASA licences, yet another cost saving initiative for competitors who have decided they will be doing only the FX events in 2010.

You should have in October received a Competitor Information DVD explaining the classes and the two series. If you didn’t you can either download it from the aus-superbikes.com.au website or contact us and we will send you a copy.

Since that DVD went out there has been lots of important information relating to the series that has been finalised including the TV package where all classes at the AFXC series will be televised, this includes the following classes that are open to all grades and point scored separately for A, B C & D grade Australian Championships status;

We invite you to compare the costs and what you get for your entry fees by going racing at the 2010 Australian Formula Xtreme Championship compared to any other Australian road racing championship series out there. We are very confident that in the vast majority of cases racers will be far better off both financially and by the number of races then what you will possibly get anywhere else.

Please be aware that while we call this the Formula Xtreme Road Racing Club (FXRRC) Newsletter, the FXRRC is a club in name only.
