| The day was warm and sunny at Brno today for the Supersport warm-up and race. Due to the problems they suffered in yesterday qualifying session, Mark Aitchison started the 18-lap race from the third row, while team mate Jason O’Halloran lined up on the seventh. It was a dramatic race for the Honda Althea Supersport riders. Both of them had a frustrating start and after few laps Aitchison was sixteenth while his team mate O’Halloran was twenty seventh. Unfortunately during the sixth lap Aitchison braked hard inside a curve and lost the front of the bike, crashing out. Two laps before the end also O’Halloran crashed ending his race on the gravel. |

Mark Aitchison : DNF
”I had a really good start off the line, but going down the front straight Sofuoglu bumped into my bike bending my right handle bar. It was really very difficult to ride in that condition and I had to adjust the handle bar with my hand while I was riding the bike. It took two laps to made this adjustment and after I tried to find my rhythm with the bike. I was pushing very hard to recover as more positions as possible, but during the sixth lap I was trying to pass Pitt but I lost the front and I crashed. Unfortunately this weekend is not gone to plan for me and for the team. I’m very sorry for them because I know they worked very hard and always stayed motivated. Now we have to regroup to be ready for next race in Germany.”
Jason O’Halloran : DNF
”After a very good start I got away with the group and I pushed very hard starting from the beginning. Near to the end of the first lap I was kicked from the saddle. I ran the risk of a crash and I lost quite a few places. At the end of the first lap I was only in twenty eighth position. To get back into the race from so far back was not easy, but I just kept my head down and tried to make up for lost positions. Unfortunately near to the end of the race I made a mistake and I crashed. I’m really sorry for my team and I want to thank them for all their hard work during this unlucky weekend.“
