Injured and unable to ride since the end of the 2006 season, Craig Hallam has struggled with the injury to 2 discs in his neck. The Disc’s, one between C5 & C6 & the other between C6&C7 have been dislodged & are pressing against his spinal cord blocking nerve function to his left arm & limiting movement of his neck.
“There is referred Pain in my left arm causing my shoulder and arm to be in almost constant spasm” Craig said. “I can’t bear to wear a helmet for more than a few minutes and it’s greatly affected my ability to work and meet my financial commitments.”
It started in last November whilst having a treatment for stiff joint at T5 in the middle of his back when a Chiropractor caused the injury. Continued treatment by the chiropractor exasperated the injury and now urgent surgery is the only solution to relieve pressure on his spinal column and reduce the chance of permanent nerve damage.
Craig competes for Dudley’s Performance in the 400 class and is a member for NSW Team in the Tri-State Series.
If the operation is successful, Craig is aiming at a return to racing at the 5th round of the MRRDA series to be held at Phillip Island in late October.
