You guys have no idea on what Telstra does and what's going on in the back round (I call it the Black Magic in Telecommunication/Technologies). This sort of dramas do happen in the real world & like everything else in general (life). In life we all do what we can as part of the puzzle and Telstra I think doing their best to give you that service plus #1. I work in the Technology world so please understand and give us that Respect that we deserved as our puzzle is your convenient and plesure....(please dont-take-everthing-for-granted).
cheers...
Thanks for your input, now where’s my soap box. I do know what has transpired in this case and it is plain and simply the cutting of the cost corner, NO Redundancy in their systems. If they (Telstra wholesale) expect to charge at premium rates to their retailers, then they need to deliver a premium service. 36+ hours to restoration in any comms system is woeful, this impacted thousands of users. We in Australia pay some of the highest rates in the world for ADSL and it all comes down to ONE COMPANY, Guess Who?
Telstra underspec'd its ADSL network from day one and it shows, it has had huge problems with reliability, keeping alive a simple connection has been beyond them,. Even with the slow uptake of ADSL in Australia, Telstra got it wrong big time. Just ask privately any of the management of the ADSL resellers what they think of Telstra’s redundancy and support, the comments are not flattering, and these are their partners.
Ok, spleen vented, Soap box away, Lets talk about nice things, isn’t it a great racing weekend. Ed (Grant, who was an IT XPurt until he worked with Telstra)
